Community

We see ourselves as a thread running through a fabric, the fabric that is our community.  We have a role to support many of the other threads. Only when the threads support each other can the fabric of the community be strong.

We support numerous efforts, whether they be a volunteer fire dept, a school’s extracurricular activity, a community event, groups such as cadets, church outreach efforts, service clubs and groups.  The common denominator is that we help them reach out and help these volunteers achieve the goal of making our community stronger.

We specifically provide on-going, annual support to Lunenburg County Search and Rescue, the Nova Scotia SeaSchool, Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, Mahone Islands Conveservation Association and the Arthur Patterson Centre for Restorative Care.

2011 saw a major project, the restoration of Battery Point Lighthouse, a project in which we were proud to partner with others.

Additionally, our employees give back on a personal level giving many hundreds of hours annually to the community.  We are proud that they are truly engaged in their community.
